In lieu of our 2020 conference, Timber Queensland's Doing Timber Business in Queensland 2021 one day event presents an informal opportunity for industry stakeholders to come together, reconnect and network in person.

Saturday 20 March 2021 - Institute of Foresters Australia (IFA) & AFG Field Trip

To celebrate the International Day of Forests, the IFA/AFG Queensland Branch are extending an invitation to those interested in plantation management and fire recovery on a field trip to Jimna. The itinerary includes an overview of the 2019 fire season, visit to a fire-affected area and the opportunity to plant a Hoop Pine tree and learn how the Jimna Hoop Pine plantations are being re-established.

Details:

  • This is a free field trip, strictly limited to 35 vistors. 
  • Delegates are required to arrange their own transport to HQPlantations Office, 33 Bellbird Road, Jimna (accessible on a bitumen road). A bus will then transport delegates around the tour sites.
  • Morning tea is provided.
  • All delegates to wear enclosed shoes or boots, long pants, long sleeves and a sun hat.
  • Completion of a mandatory online safety induction is required for attending parties prior to the field trip.

Full tickets (TQ Members and Non-Members) include full day symposium, bowls and BBQ. 
For IFA members, please provide proof of IFA membership upon registration.
Tickets for just barefoot bowls and BBQ are separately bookable and do not include daytime conference attendance. 

Payment & Cancellation Policy

All registrations must be paid in full 10 days before the event. If you are unable to attend this event we will provide a 100% refund up to 7 days prior to event and a 50% refund after that. Notification of cancellation must be received in writing.
