This webinar will explain the different sized footprints your choice regarding material selection can make and provide guidance on the tools and programs available to ensure you leave a footprint that help ensure the communities in which we live and operate remain strong.

Event Program

As a building professional or consumer, specifying timber building materials has a significant economic impact on your local supply chain and carbon footprint. Forestry plantations are our cities lungs and natural greenhouse gas filters. Once harvested carbon remains stored in the timber used in buildings and wood products. Then the forests are replanted, regrowing building materials that help keep people in jobs.

Not only can you be certain locally grown and produced products are true to label and fit for purpose, specifying timber building materials from our local supply chain helps keep our nation and our state stronger by supporting thousands of Aussie workers.

Buying locally grown and produced timber will generate the most direct and significant local benefits. Fortunately there is strong local industry capacity to produce timber products to meet the bulk of consumer needs. However, given our local supply cannot meet total demand for timber, sourcing from interstate and overseas suppliers, with the strongest links to downstream processors and manufacturers, will provide the next order of positive benefits.
